In short
Josh Middleton's band from Reading, Berkshire, and effectively his instrument: he writes it, sings it and plays the leads. Thrash by chassis — no down-tuning and no breakdowns, in the band's own account — with melodic death metal harmony laid over Bay Area riffing. A hiatus from 2016 to 2019 while Middleton played guitar in Architects ended with a band heavier than the one that stopped.
Where it sits
Sylosis formed in 2000 in the United Kingdom. This tree dates Thrash metal from 1983, seventeen years earlier. Seven records here, 2008 to 2026.
