From Wikipedia
Terrapin Station is the ninth studio album by the American rock band the Grateful Dead, released on July 27, 1977. It was the band's first release for Arista Records and their first studio effort following a two-year hiatus from full-scale touring. Produced by Keith Olsen, who was hired by Arista president Clive Davis to refine the band's sound, the album marked a significant departure from their previous improvisational and Americana styles by incorporating a polished production and orchestral arrangements by Paul Buckmaster without the band's knowledge.
